Well, well, well. All's well that ends well. A season to leave even the most cynical supporter welling up. OK that's it for the well gags. Gorkys have finally found something to banish the nightmare fourth place blues, and that something is A DOUBLE CHAMPIONS BABY!!! All was not well (not a gag I promise you) at the start of the first half of the Autumn '07 season and by the third week Gorkys were just trying to avoid relegation. However come two crucial wins in week 4, as well as other results going their way, the Gorkys started to realise, to believe, that the first half premier title could be theirs as they finished that week in 3rd. The last week was a do or die and Gorky's did, and did magnificently. Blasting their opposition out of the water with two wins that included a 6 -1 thrashing of Soccer Dog, meant the title was theirs. Come the second half of the season and Gorkys started at the top on goal difference and stayed on top throughout with points. A triumphant return of Taylor to full-time football saw him retain the golden boot, player of the season and, more crucially, Gorkys get the silver polish out!
